Happiness is Homemade

Hello Friends

It is Pam sharing with you today!

It is time to show off our new RELEASE!  It is called Christmas 2023 just in time for you to get started on making all those wonderful holiday cards and scrapbooks!

To display one of these sweet new dies I designed a block easel card.  The card features the Holiday Gnome Baker.

Design Steps:

1.  Start with a piece of heavy white card stock measuring 11 x 4 1/4.  Lay the 11 inch side on the score board and score at 3/4, 1 1/2, 2 1/4, 3, 5 1/2 and 8 1/4
2.  Use a bone folder and press along all the score lines.  Roll the box along the 3/4 inch lines at the bottom of the easel.  Then place glue on the bottom flap of the little box
3.  Your card will look like the picture above after glued
4.  Fold the base to form a little tent like the picture above and set aside
5.  Cut a piece of white card stock 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.  This will serve as the easel front set aside
6.  Use the Holiday Gnome Baker and cut out the following colors: light brown checked DP, red polka dot DP, brown checked DP, blue checked DP, white, green and silver.  Assemble with a fine tip glue
7.  For the base and easel piece cut: 2 checked blue strips 5/8 x 4 1/8, 2 DP ginger bread strips 1/2 x 4, Red checked DP 4 1/8 x 5 3/8, using the second from the largest Scalloped Stitched Rectangle and cut out a brown check rectangle, use the third from the largest Pierced Rectangle and cut out a checked blue rectangle
8.  On the top and front of the box glue the glue strip and then add the red strip as shown
9.  To decorate the 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 piece of white that will be the easel front glue down the red DP and then add the brown scalloped rectangle slightly off center.  Next glue down the pierced blue retangle as shown above
10.  Add the gnome and your sentiment.  I also added a little banner with some hearts and glossy dots to the right of the gnome
11. To attach the decorated easel front add glue to the folded flap and then attach the easel panel.  Your card is complete
12.  This card does fit into an A2 size envelope

Valentine Bicycle

 Hello Scrapping Cottage Friends

I hope all of you had a great time celebrating the New Year!  Last year went by so incredibly fast.

Believe it or not I am starting my Valentines cards.  I am repurposing a Christmas die for this card.  I am using the Festive Holiday Bike.  As you can see I changed up just a few things to make it a Valentine.

Design Steps:

1.  Using the Festive Holiday Bike die cut out the pieces using, deep red, pink, white, and mint green

2.  Assemble the bike with a fine tip, clear drying glue
3.  For the card base I used a 6 x 4 1/4 white card stock, 5 3/4 x 4 pink card stock, 5 1/2 x 3 3/4 Bike DP and a white rectangle cut with the Scallop Nested Rectangle die the second for the largest
4.  Run the scalloped rectangle through a heart embossing folder.  Then using dimensional dots pop the bicycle onto the rectangle

5.  Glue the pink card stock to the white card base, then glue down the bike DP and finally glue the rectangle with the bike.  Stamp your sentiment and add a few tiny pearls and your card is complete

Tropical Fishy!

Hello Scrapping Cottage Friends!

It is Pam on the blog with you today!

We have a brand new release of dies in the online store.  This selection of dies features Pirates and Sea Creatures! There are 14 awesome designs in the collection and you are going to want each and everyone of them!!

Now onto todays card.  It has been really hot in Arizona. So the water in this picture makes me want to jump into our pool!!  I have been making a ton of hello cards lately because so many of my friends are still unable to travel.  I sure miss seeing them!  I am praying that this virus will soon just go away!

I am highlighting the new Tropical Fish die.  I love using bright colors and the tropical fish are perfect for these vivid colors.

Design Steps:
1.  Use and A2 white card base, a piece of white card stock 4 x 5 1/4, white frame cut with the largest of the Stitched Wide Rectangle Frame dies, a piece of green card stock cut first with the largest of the Scalloped Rectangle dies and then the center cut out with the largest of the Pierced Rectangle dies.  This will give you a piece of green scalloped trim
2.  On the piece of white card stock use 3 different TH blues inks to create the ocean.  Next spray with water to create the bubbles.  Use a piece of 2 1/2 x 4 inch brown card stock torn in half to create the sand.  I glued one piece to the blue inked card stock and the other to the back of the frame. Glue the green trim to the front of the frame

3.  Glue the blue inked piece directly to the card base.  Place dimension tape on the back of the frame and then adhere on top of the blue inked piece
4.  Using the Tropical Fish die cut out all of the pieces.  I used blue, teal, purple, light green, dark green, white, light purple, dark pink, orange, dark orange and yellow
5.  Shade the pieces using a variety of inks and then assemble
6.  Arrange onto card base and glue down some of the pieces and use pop dots on others.  All of the fish have pop dots behind them.  Stamp the sentiment and add glossy accents to the pearl.  Your card is complete!

Garden Party

Happy Friday!  It's Jeanne with you today and I have a card featuring the Golden Bear die from the new Gardening release.  The bear isn't used in this card but the adorable beehive and bees are!
I started this card by using a sketch from Freshly Made Sketches blog.
I cut my base panel, and two inner panels from white cardstock.  The base panel I embossed using a floral embossing older and I cut the other panels using the largest of the stitched rectangle dies and the second largest of the Scalloped Stitched Rectangle dies.
I the went through my cardstock samples and chose my colors.
I cut all the pieces and used ink in the same or slightly darker shades to give some depth to the edges of the pieces.  The bees wings are cut from vellum.  I loe using vellum for wings so that they are translucent.  Art Glitter Glue allows you to glue vellum without the glue showing through.
Next, I centered and adhered the panels together.
Using the green cardstock, I cut the phrase using the Garden Phrases die.
I added it and the other elements to the center panel.  Finally, I added a few sequins.
This new release has a wonderful variety  of dies that can be used for numerous occasions.  Be sure to stop by the online store where select dies are on sale for Memorial Day!
