Fun Interactive Shaker Card Using Santa's Delivery

Hello, wonderful crafty friends! It's Theary Chea here on the blog today. I am so excited to share this fun interactive shaker card on the CottageCutz Youtube channel.

Who doesn't love a fun shaker card? Seeing and hearing the sounds of the shaker elements moving inside the card makes me so giddy inside (and my children go wild for it too!) I am obsessed with creating fun interactive cards, and using products from the new release made creating that much more fun!

For this card, I used Santa's Delivery, along with a few of our basics dies. I love finding different ways to use our basics dies to help stretch out what we have in our stash.

Here is a look at the card I am sharing today.

CottageCutz is also giving this fabulous die to one of our amazing subscribers. To enter the giveaway, you will need to watch the video here at Santa's Delivery Shaker Card, comment, and make sure that you are a subscriber to the CottageCutz Youtube Channel.

Good luck with the giveaway. 😊
I hope you have a wonderful rest of your day.

Until next time,

Thanks Mr Snowman

Good morning Cottagecutz fans, it’s Wendy bringing you the Tuesday blog. I hope you had a lovely weekend. The weather has been kind to us in the UK so a lovely time of year for long walks.

When I bring to you a card, I really like to have a background story. In this card Mr Snowman has kindly helped Santa deliver his presents so that’s why Santa’s sack is empty

To begin with I cut out the elements from the ‘High Flying Snowman’ die. I’ve assembled some of the parts as I didn’t think you needed to see all elements cut out. Instead of using the ‘JOY’ on the flag, I stamped a sentiment, just to show you that there are other possibilities.

Next I used some chalk to darken the clouds slightly and assembled the remainder of this element

Now to make the base of the card. I cut a card so when folded measured 5” x 4” in white and then took the largest ‘Stitched Scalloped Rectangle’ die in Navy blue and assembled to the card with 1mm foam pads

I then used the ‘Clouds Slimline die to cut a strip. I used the largest ‘Stitched Rectangle’ to cut it to size

I then curt the elements from the elements from ‘Santa’s Delivery’ die

To finish I assembled all finished items onto my card with 1mm foam pads. The Santas sack was a last minute element I added that’s why you can’t see it being cut out

So that’s my card for todays blog. I really hope you like it. Have a lovely week and I will see you Friday for another post

Special delivery

Good morning wonderful Scrapping Cottage fans. I hope you’ve had an amazing week. We’re already at Friday, where did the week go? It's Wendy bringing you the end of the week blog today and here’s today’s card

So we are in October which is my favourite month as I have my birthday, and I also get to do a blog post on my birthday, so expect something sensational!

I'm very excited to be using some of the new Christmas designs which are AMAZING! You just have time to get 30%  off the dies if you order by 9pm PCT

So here’s a light tutorial for you.

I’ve started with a navy slimline card and have added some snow using the ‘Hills Slimline’ dies. I love the versatility of these dies so one to pop in your basket. The second layer has been mounted with 1mm 3D foam pads so I could slot various items behind there

To make the main body of the card I’ve used the ‘Santa’s delivery’ die. I love the cheeky Santa, the cute reindeer and the plethora of gifts. The large trees have also been taken from this die and I think Santa has been naughty and taken a star off the tree :-) Everything is very easy to assemble and what I like about CottageCutz is that the colours you need for each element are grouped on the die so you haven’t got card all over the die

For the smaller trees I used the new ‘Ice Skating Kids’ die

Finally I used an older die but still really handy and that is ‘Santa stuck in Chimney’ I thought this was great to leave the presents in.

As it’s the weekend, I have a bonus card for you

This is such an easy card to make. I have used the new ‘Joyful Snowman’ die. All of the elements to spell the word Joy have been cut out 3 times and layered to give them a chipboard effect. I have also used the ‘Nested stitched Scalloped Rectangles’ to put on the base card. I have finished off by using a white pen to highlight the gold elements and some flat backed pearls on the holly

I really hope you like the cards and you’re inspired to start making your Christmas cards

Have a wonderful weekend and make sure you have plenty of time to craft.

Santa & Snowman Window Cards

Hey everyone! It's Janet dropping by to show you two cards I made using two new holiday release dies. The first is called Window With Shutters and it has a great window, complete with a header, flower box and shutters. This die could be used year round to create a cute window scene by itself or filled with characters of your choosing that fit in the window space.
.

Today, I chose to use the companion die set made just for this window called Window Christmas Friends. It includes adorable Christmas figures including a pine tree, Santa, Snowman and Poinsettias with greens for the flower box.

Since the Santa and Snowman are both cut when you use the set, I decided to use both in each card. Nothing should go to waste right?! For Santa, the snowman is saying hi when you open the card. The opposite is true if the snowman adorns the front. I also used the Nested Stitched Scallop Rectangles inside for the stamped sentiment and die cuts. These are such cheerful little figures!

To learn how I made this card including how I created the acetate window effect, click on the video below. I hope you enjoy this one because I had a lot of fun creating them!

Have a great week and thanks for spending some time with us here at CottageCutz.

Hugs,
Janet
