Festive Penguins

Hi!

Anja here. I can't believe how quickly this week went by. I'm still waiting for my new Cottage Cutz dies to come, so I used a few holiday dies and combined different pieces together to make a cute penguin card. It's so cool how different Cottage Cutz dies go so well together.

For this card I used:
- Cottage Cutz dies (Penguin With Present, Snowglobe Friends, Vintage Holiday Car, Sweet Baby Lamb),
- Distress Oxides (Black Soot, Faded Jeans, Broken China) and Inks (Black Soot, Wild Honey, Fired Brick, Peeled Paint, Forest Moss),
- smooth watercolor paper for background (13x13 cm),
- white card base (14x14 cm),
- white card stock for die cuts,
- black pen,
- Zig watercolor brush (pink shade),
- watercolor brush,
- adhesive foam pads,
- paper glue.

First I colored the background. I used smooth watercolor paper which is great for coloring with Oxides. It allows you to blend the colors really well. I started with black and then went to light blue. I just circled around the paper with round blending tools. I prefer the round ones over the rectangular ones. When I had the color I wanted, I spritzed it with a few drops of water and dried it.

Then I die cut the  penguins from two different dies. I colored them with Distress Inks. I added eyes and cheeks with black and pink pen.

Instead of the skates I used another die to make penguin feet.

I die cut the wreath from Vintage Holiday Card die.

I used adhesive foam pads to add a bit of dimension.

And this is the finished card.

Have a peaceful Sunday.

Hello Sweet Baby

Hi!

It's Anja here and I have a cute baby card for you today. I used a few baby animal dies and combined them with the new expressions dies. It's such a fun to play with them :)

I used:
- CottageCutz dies (Hello Phrase, Sweet Phrase, Baby Koala w/ Blanket, Spring Bunny w/ Flowers, Stork, Sweet Baby Lamb, Grass, Trees & Vines),
- Distress Inks and Oxides (Pumice Stone, Black Soot, Peeled Paint, Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain, Faded Jeans, Broken China, Fossilized Amber, Spiced Marmalade),
- white card base (10 x 21 cm),
- blue card stock (20,6 x 9,6 cm),
- white card stock (for die cuts),
- white paper and patterned paper (9,2 x 20,2 cm),
- black pen,
- glue,
- Versafine Onyx black stamp pad,
- alphabet stamp set.

First I die cut all the pieces from white card stock, colored them with Distress Inks and Oxides and glued them together.

Then I cut blue and colored paper (the measurements are written above).

And then I just put all the pieces together using paper glue. To finish the sentiment I stamped "baby" to the inside of the card. I used silicone alphabet stamps.

I also decorated the envelope. I used sentiment stamp that seemed just perfect to go with the stork.

And this is the finished card from the inside ...

... and the outside.

The new expressions dies go so well with all the cute Scrapping Cottage images. I am really looking forward to show you all the other projects where I paired them. And to see all the new dies check out these video made by Janet where she showcases them all.

And also go check The Scrapping Cottage store for the Memorial Day Sale and get all the new dies for a lower price.

Thank you for stopping by. Have a wonderful sunday.

Welcome Baby!

Good Morning Dear Scrapping Cottage Friends!

I am happy to show you another one of the new baby dies that was just released.  I have had two great nephews born in the last 6 months and they came down to visit from Ohio.  They were both just so adorable.  So needless to say I am in the baby mood!  Today I am showing you a card using Sweet Baby Lamb.

Here are my design steps for this sweet baby card!

1.  Use an A2 white card base cut a piece of cloud designer paper using the second largest Pierced Rectangle die then glue to the center of the card front
2.  Cut a white fence using the Victorian Fence die, cut green grass using the Spring Grass die and cut a pink frame using the Pierced Wide Rectangle Frame Set.  Glue the fence and the grass to the bottom of the sky.  Then add dimension tape to the frame and mount it

3.  Cut and assemble all the little critters and accessories from the Sweet Baby Lamb die set

4.  Use the second to the smallest Cross Stitch Circle dies and cut a white circle.  Stamp the sentiment and add a button with some pink and white bakers twine

Here are the Cottage Cutz Products I used to create this card!

These new baby dies are so sweet!  I hope you will make a new mom very happy by making her a card to celebrate having her new little one!

Blessings
Pam
