Owl Good

Hi!

This is Anja. The other DT ladies started making Christmas cards, so slowly I'm getting in this mood too. The new dies take longer to come to me, so I used the ones I already have and made a card that could also be used for sending holidays wishes.

For this project I used:
- Cottage Cutz dies (Stylized Owl, Angel With Holly, Christmas Holly Bells, Lantern w/ Holly Vine, Retro Tag Toppers, Oval Set),
- Distress Inks (Vintage Photo, Crushed Olive, Pine Needles, Aged Mahogany, Barn Door, Walnut Stain, Tea Dye, Mustard Seed, Spiced Marmalade, Black Soot),
- craft card base (10x15 cm),
- black card stock for background (10x15 cm),
- white card stock for die cuts,
- wood patterned stamp,
- brown card stock (10x15 cm, 5 pieces),
- white pigment ink,
- black pen,
- adhesive foam pads,
- paper glue,
- scissors.

First I made the owl. I used white card stock and then colored the edges with Distress Inks. I used black pen for the eyes.

I used different dies for the vines. I again used Distress Inks for coloring.

I made the banner with Retro Toppers dies. I wrote the sentiment by myself with black pen. I used Distress Ink to color around the edges.

Then I made the background. First I cut five 10x15 cm pieces of paper from brown card stock. I used Oval Set dies to cut the ovals from the paper.

Then I colored the edges of the ovals and the paper with Distress Ink.

Next I used the same Distress Ink to stamp the wood pattern on the background.

Then I glued all five pieces of paper together and distress the edges with the scissors.

I decided to color the edges with white ink to make them a bit softer. I also glued the back with black paper.

And then I glued the background to the craft colored card base and then added the holly vines and owl (I used adhesive foam pads).  In the end I glued the sentiment on top of the vines.

And this is my finished card.

The new dies are still 25 % off, so don't forget to check it out.

May your Sunday be sunny and fun.

See you again next week.

Tree as symbol of growing and learning

Hi all! Vladka here with you again!

Today I would like to show you, what I made for my very good friend. She lives in America now and she is a teacher to three years old kids. This is why she needed something to hang on the class door. And I came up with idea to create a tree, because for me it is symbol of growing, learning... So I made this one first. Tree´s ladder is created so, that it looks like inches. There is a lot of animals on the top of the tree and under it: butterflies, little bear and the bigger one, lion, bird, hedgehogs and owl. I added also leafs, grass, mushrooms, nest and birdhouse.

I made also another one with months on it. She will add children´s names on it. So they will  all  know when children have their birthdays. Both trees are cut out with scissors and all pieces are colored with Distress Ink. It is really cute, although it is pretty big.

My list of all used dies is today really long, but I really had fun to play with all this cute dies.

Album for newborn baby

Hi, Vladka here. Today I want to show you some pages from the scrapbook album for the newborn baby. Pages on the photos are not add to the book yet, because it is easier to photograph them so. :) These main pages separate the album into parts, which show some main events which happen in the baby´s first year. After every page is a space for photos and some sheets are added that some short stories or important dates can be written down.
Here is the front page with cute Furry Teddy Bear and white bird on the branch:
I used another branch and second bird on the first inside page. I also put some grass there and between is a place for one photo, for example.
The next page which I want to present you is this one with Giraffe. I thought that this motive will be perfect symbol or metaphor for largeness.
Here is the last page which I will show you, but not the last one in the whole album. Little boy has 3 sisters and here is the place to add some sisters drawings. On this page I used following dies: Butterflies and Greenery.
It is always such fun to create something for babies or kids. I really enjoyed creating this!

Stylized Owl

Hello everybody, Vladka here with you today!

I used Winter Owl many times before and my wish was also to have Stylized Owl and here it is. On the front of the card I made a hole which uncovers the part of the inside. Owl is peeking through.

Here you can see how card is looking when is open. Kraft paper and Distress Inks are my recipe.

That's it for today. I wish you a great Sunday!
