Silent Night is one of my favorite hymns.  I created this easy and fun art journal page using the Winter Deer Family  and Snowflakes die cuts.
I colored in the deer and snowflakes with watecolor and then letting dry.  Next I added white pen to add more dimension to the deer.
Then I added a little glitter glue for shimmer and mica flakes for more interest.
This is a simple page that looks beautiful in it's simplicity.
I hope this inspires you to add some pages to your art journa.

Art Journal - Home for the Holidays

Art journaling is quickly becoming one of my favorite places to create smaller works of art.  Die cuts can add interest and whimsy to these small creations.
I used the Cottage Cutz Vintage Holiday Car and colored in the image with watercolors.
By adding layers of watercolor, I added shading to the car.  For small die cuts, it is easier to leave them in the die cut scrap when coloring them in.
Next, I added glitter glue to the die cut to give a little shimmer.
Then I used Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in assorted colors to create the background.
Wishing you a creative day, dear friends.

Cup of Comfort Ornament Tag

Do you enjoy a little cup of comfort?  You know the kind that is filled with delicious, warm cocoa, coffee or tea.  I created these sweet Cup of Comfort Ornament/Tags using the Nested Stitched Doily Set and the Cocoa & Sweet Treat Dies.
I used watercolors to color in the images.  To add deeper color to areas of the die, I add a base coat of the watercolor then let dry.  Next add a second coat in the areas to you would like a deeper more intense color, letting dry between coats.
Assemble the images, add some red/white twine, lace pieces, embellishments and glitter glue to add shimmer.  Add a hanging tag with the red/white twine.
I hope you enjoyed a little Christmas inspiration.
Wishing a  creative day, dear friends.

As Autumn is fast approaching the holidays, my heart turn towards all the gatherings with family and friends.  I wanted to capture this in my art journal.
I die cut the Cottage Cutz Christmas Floral.
I used watercolors to color in the die cuts.  For the small pieces of the greenery, it helped to use my paper piercer to hold the die cut in place as I painted it.
I pop doted the container on the cardboard and assembled then rest of the floral arrangement.  I added ribbons, twill, lace and buttons to complete.

Wishing you a creative day, dear friends.

Cherished Memories Art Journal

Hello die lovers!  Sheila here, sharing on of my newest art journal pages using the Sparrow on the Post die cut.
I first die cut the white card stock then stamped the image using Stazon ink.
Stazon in doesn't run when using watercolors.
Next, I used watercolors to color in the image.  Letting it dry.
Then, I found a wonderful vintage image to pair the sparrow with, adding twill, kraft e-flute and vintage lace.
Many wonderful memories bird watching with my family.
Do you bird watch?

Art Journal - Live Life Through Art

Hello creatives!  Do you love art journaling?
I am excited to be sharing the start of my newest art journal, live life through art using the Cornucopia die.
I die cut using watercolor paper.  Then I used watercolors to color in the pieces.
With the leaves, I blended the rich colors of autumn together.
Once dried, I used a charcoal pencil to add additional details.
Then I layered the die cuts adding pop dots to some of the dies to add dimension.
Next, I added lace, additional papers, burlap and ribbon to complete the front of the art journal.

Die used:

Wishing you a creative day.

Happy Halloween Hanger

Hello creative peeps!  Sheila here to share a mixed media Happy Halloween Hanger.
I used while watercolor paper to die cut the Happy Ghost Cottage Cutz.
I used different shades of yellow and orange watercolors to start layering color on the dies.
I continued to add layers for watercolor color in the pumpkin, stem and ghosts.  Once dried, I assembled the Happy Ghost die gluing together then adding glitter glue.
Then, I die cut black cardstock with the Happy Halloween Web.  Then adding glitter glue to add a little sparkle.

For the canvas pennant hanger, I used spritzed on glimmer mist in coordinating colors. Then I used high impact paints, in coordinate colors, to add dimension and shimmer to the canvas.  Next I layered the canvas pieces on top of the pennant hanger.
(Created with Cottage Cutz dies, Canvas Corp Brands, Tattered Angels products and Prima Marketing Watercolors.)

Then, I added ribbons, lace, vintage button and washi tape to complete.

I hope you enjoyed a little Halloween inspiration!  Remember to go to the online store on Wednesday, Sept 20th for ordering.
