A Bunny Valentine

It's Jeanne today and I couldn't resist making one more Valentine!  Today's card is a tri-fold and features dies from the new Spring release.
I started with a piece of red 12 x 4 inch cardstock and scored it 4 inches from each side so I would have a 4 inch square card.  I cut  three white squares using the largest of the Nested Stitched Eyelet Squares Set.
I then cut the bunny and hearts from different colors of cardstock.  I wanted various shades of pink and red for the hearts so I went through my scraps.  A good way to use them up!
I did use two different dies for the envelope since I wasn't certain which one would be the correct size for the bunny.  I ended up using the one from the Love Letters die.  I cut the hearts from the Love Letters and Love Bird Branch dies.  I used a black multi-liner to color the bunny's eye and nose and a Copic marker to color the center of the wheel.
I assembled the bunny and cart and used many but not all the hearts.  I decided the front of the card needed a little bit of a pop so I cut a navy blue square the same size as the outer edge of the eyelet square and glued it to the back.  It added just enough contrast.
I then assembled the second panel with the sentiment and added some of the extra hearts.
And finally glued the back panel on the center of the card with the balance of the hearts.

Going to the Chapel

Hi, Lois here with a simple card today.  I'm  still playing with the new dies that CottageCutz has recently released.  You can find them on the CottageCutz website.  They are a series of wedding dies and a series of nested shapes.  I have another wedding card today, which uses dies from both series.

To begin the card, I cut a piece of heavyweight white cardstock 5 1/2" x 8 1/2, a piece of Glittery Pink cardstock 4" x 5 1/4", and a piece of shimmer white cardstock 3 7/8" x 5 1/8".

Then, using several CottageCutz dies, I cut the various die-cut pieces from shimmer white, pink glitter, and black glitter cardstock.

Before constructing my card, I embossed the shimmer white panel with a swirly embossing folder.

I added added small foam pop dots to the back of the carriage . . .

. . . and ran the two small black die-cuts through my Xyron X sticker maker.

I then constructed my card and added a few sequins which matched the color of the carriage.

~ Udder-ly Awesome ~

Hello Scrapping Cottage friends! Thanks for taking the time to stop and visit today. It's Mary Marsh here bringing you the Saturday edition of the Blog.

We have some fabulous new stamp & die combo sets released and they are available at 25% off in the online store. I am using a couple of the new sets today with the On The Farm and Farm Animals.

So let's get started with some details on the little farm scene I created on my card today.

Black Card Base: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Image Panel: 4 1/8" x 5 3/8"

I started my card by stamping the images with Memento tuxedo black ink. I colored the images with Copic markers and Prismacolor pencils and gamsol. This ink doesn't bleed into your inks or pencils. I also used X-Press It blending cardstock. It is designed to work with Copic markers.
Markers & Pencils used to color images

After the images were colored I started on my background. I used tumbled glass distress ink for my sky then shabby shutters and mowed lawn for the grassy area. I used some torn paper to create the appearance of a hilly area. I wanted a softer background so I used a stencil brush. It achieved the look I was after. At the bottom of the card, I used tea dye distress ink for a non-grassy area.

I decided to use the "udder-ly awesome" sentiment from the Farm Animals set. I cut a cloud from the "clouds & sun" die set because I wanted to stamp the sentiment inside of it. This sentiment is a single line and was just a bit to long for my cloud.  So I used my MISTI tool and took it to a 2 line sentiment. You just tape off the part that you don't want stamped and ink up your sentiment.

When I started the assembly of my card, I decided to use the fence stamp and die from the On The Farm set. And then I added some hearts going from the cow up to the sentiment. I just thought they fit so well with this sentiment. The hearts are from the Love Bird Branch die set.

Well that's it for me for this week. See you next week.
